Housing Market Update with Renee Porsia, The Rescue Dog Realtor
Hi everyone! This is Renee Porsia, The Rescue Dog Realtor, here with your housing market update for the week of April 29th, 2024.
Here’s a quick rundown of what’s going on:
- Mortgage Rates: They’re holding steady compared to last week.
- Home Sales:
- More new homes were sold than expected in March!
- People are putting in contracts to buy homes at a higher rate than anticipated.
- Jobless Claims: Fewer people are filing for unemployment benefits.
- Economy:
- The economy grew a little slower than expected in the first few months of this year (called Q1).
- Prices for most things are going up a little bit, as expected.
- People are spending more money than expected.
What does this mean for you?
It’s a good time to buy a home if you’re ready. Interest rates are still good, and there are more homes on the market than expected.
Things could change soon!
There are a lot of important events and economic reports coming out this week that could shake things up a bit in the housing market. It’s like getting a sneak peek at a movie trailer!
But for now, interest rates are holding steady, there are more homes for sale than expected, and it’s a good time to consider buying a home.
